In order to hook it up, we will have to shut down several devices and computers, including the VPN server, firewall and serial modems which connect Las Campanas to El Pino and the outside world. We will also be installing the LCO Barracuda SPAM firewall in its final location, and the backup email server 'lcoeps2' (nee lcocas1). As a result, the network from Las Camapanas to the outside will be down, hopefully for a very short period (5-10 minutes most likely). VPN and other access from the outside will also be down for a similar period. The email server will be down a little bit longer (perhaps 20 minutes as the system will run disk checking on its large RAIDed disks). In any event, everything *should* be back to normal by 0830hrs, probably well before that. If this is a problem, please contact ciss@ctio.noao.edu, and/or pgomez@lco.cl, as soon as possible, or call 56-51-205236. Para conectarlo, sera necesario apagar y reconectar varios equipos, entre ellos el servidor de VPN, el firewall, y mas importante los modems que conectan Las Campanas a El Pino y el Internet. Se tomara la ocasion para installar el Barracuda SPAM firewall en su ubicacion final, y tambien installar el servidor de correo de respaldo, 'lcoeps2' (antes conocido como 'lcocas1'). Por ende, la conexion de Las Campanas al exterior, incluyendo El Pino, estar inhabilitado, pero esperamnos solamente por un breve tiempo (5-10 minutos). Acceso por VPN o 'ssh' desde afuera estara inhabilitado por el mismo periodo. Acceso al servidor de correo, 'lcoeps1', sera interumpido por un poco mas tiempo, quizas 20 minutos mientras el aparato hace un chequeo de discos (RAID). En cualquier eventualidad, todo deberia de regresar a la normalidad a mas tardar 0830hrs.
